Spiritual Life

Strong priniciples run through our chapter. Each weekly chapter meeting begins with a devotion prepared by the chaplain. Both our brothers and pledges are encouraged to attend regular Bible studies led by other Betas who can relate to where the guys are spiritually. Many Betas attend and hold positions in local ministries including Encounter, Campus Crusade for Christ, and RUF, and donate time, including summers, to programs such as Young Life, JH Ranch, Alpine Camp for Boys, and Kanakuk Kamps. As you can see, spirituality is an important aspect of our fraternity and is evident in the values we uphold.

Brotherhood

Brotherhood is the most important aspect of any fraternity. Without a sense of brotherhood the other aspects of a fraternity either cannot exist, or do not matter to the group. The short time spent as an active brother of Beta consistently produces large groups of lifelong friends. This not only helps with networking, but it also provides personal support groups as we go through life that help us conquer any situations that arise. Our mission statement says this well, “Our brotherhood aids the individual, builds the Fraternity and strengthens the host academic institution through lifelong devotion to intellectual excellence, high standards of moral conduct and responsible citizenship”.

Academics

The main purpose of Auburn University is to provide students with an education that will help them to succeed in life. Beta Theta Pi never loses sight of this. We provide our members with the environment and encouragement to excel academically. Our chapter is consistently holds one of the top 5 cumulative GPAs on campus. We take pride in the fact that our chapter GPA has remained above the All Men’s Average since our founding in 1964. Beta boasts of numerous Dean’s List and President’s List award winners each semester. With many of our members pursuing graduate degrees, academics is an area that we pride ourselves in, and we make every effort to recruit new members to carry on our academic excellence.

Social Life

The Social Life at Beta is second to none. The entire fall semester revolves around Auburn football. Each home game weekend starts with Friday night band parties ranging from local college bands to national acts such as Juvenile. No game day is complete without a Beta Tailgate set up outside Jordan-Hare stadium for brothers, dates, family, and alumni. The fall social schedule does not end there. The semester is filled with socials, swaps, and sorority formals. Highlights of the semester include the annual Beta Halloween and Christmas date parties. In the spring, we have two annual date parties called Ski Lodge and Mystic Dragon, as well as a weekend long formal in New Orleans. We also have the three-day long Crazy Horse party and wrap up the semester with our six-night long Beta Lei. The best social event, however, is hanging out in the back yard on a random afternoon playing volleyball or throwing horseshoes. As we stated above, the Beta social schedule is second to none.

Athletics

We hold athletics in high regard at Beta and because of that we excel. Most Betas that you meet are high school lettermen in one or multiple sports. We have found that competing alongside somebody is a great way build camaraderie. Because of that we field teams in every intramural sport that Auburn offers, and in are consistently the team to beat across the board. Some of our most recent athletic achievements are listed below.
